Among Family & Children’s Place community of support is a group of young professionals – Ambassadors – who share their time, talents and networks to create awareness, make friends and raise funds for the agency.

From volunteering at Caper and the Drive Out Child Abuse Golf Scramble to creating and supporting their own third-party events, they add a new dimension of energy and engagement. But because of the nature of the work – helping abuse-impacted children and families, they often get just as much as they give.

Following is a note we received from one of our ambassadors, Ashley Ifeadike, a corporate strategy analyst with Humana.

“Now that the KDF miniMarathon is over, I officially have completed my Family & Children’s Place ambassador project. I consider it a huge success! I surpassed my goal of $500, raising a total of $813! During the months leading up to my journey, I posted facts about Family & Children’s Place on my Instagram and Facebook, hoping to spread awareness about the organization to my network.

“In addition, I braved the pouring rain and ran my half marathon in two hours and three minutes.

“I’m so happy to be an ambassador for Family & Children’s Place! With this project alone, I was able to accomplish many personal goals and support an organization that I believe is doing amazing work!

“I’m so excited to continue planning the Resurfaced event and taking part in the other ambassador activities. Thanks so much for creating these opportunities— I am so happy to support Family & Children’s Place!”
