Update Regarding Services at FCP
A message from CEO/President Pam Darnall
July 17, 2024
We want to share some important news with you. It is never easy to make difficult decisions, especially when they impact our community.
Due to ongoing federal funding losses, we must close our Jeffersonville, IN, and Republic Bank Louisville YMCA offices, and our counseling program by December 1, 2024. With the closure of the Jeffersonville office, we will no longer offer Child Advocacy Center services, but we will continue to offer School-Based Services in Southern Indiana.
The primary funding for these locations and programs came from the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA). Since Fiscal Year 2021, we have experienced a cumulative reduction in VOCA revenue by forty-eight percent. Fewer dollars mean fewer solutions from our community’s mental health services.
Despite our best efforts, we cannot continue these services with constant funding reductions. In the coming months, we will work to identify potential partners to transition our staff and clients as quickly as possible. We are committed to ensuring our families continue receiving services and will help them find additional resources.
Your support has been incredible, and we are deeply grateful. This decision was extremely hard, but we remain committed to our mission and will continue our other projects to support those in need.
Thank you for your understanding.
Pam Darnall
