Tonya Clay, Kim Cook win Bridge to Light Awards

June 11, 2018

All of us at Family & Children’s Place are proud to congratulations to Kim Cook and Tonya Clay who were recognized Friday at the first ever Bridgehaven/Solutions Bridge to Light Awards. The event, at Audubon Country Club, honors professionals working in a variety of social settings across Kentucky.

Tonya is the director of Kentucky Behavioral Health Services, and Cook helps lead child advocacy centers in Louisville and New Albany, Ind., for Family & Children’s Place.

“I am thrilled to see Tonya and Kim recognized this way,” said Pam Darnall, president and CEO of Family & Children’s Place. “Every day they provide exceptional service to our client children and families, making a real difference in their lives.”

The awards, according to Bridgehaven/Solutions, recognize “exemplary ethics, values, compassion, vision and results in the behavioral health field.” Additionally, the awards create awareness of how pervasive behavioral health issues are and emphasize the hope there is for recovery through the work of mental health professionals such as Clay and Cook.

Josh Swetnam, vice president of Programs for the agency, echoed Darnall saying, “Way to go, Tonya and Kim!”
