Fresh fruit and Popsicles provided nutritious and cooling treats for the kids and their families at Louisville’s Iroquois Park. The family-friendly event featured face painting, an obstacles course (which adults enjoyed just as much as the kids), bubbles and an infant play area featuring books and musical instruments. Event sponsor WellCare participated, too, providing information and baby supplies to picnic participants. Family came early and stayed to play, enjoying sunny skies, temperatures in the 80s and low humidity! Many of the kids and families also took the opportunity to wander over to the playground and splash park during the festivities. HANDS staff managed the picnic, blowing bubbles with and painting the faces of excited kids, demonstrating the real connections and positive changes they make working with families in the important program.
