Gift will support healing services of the best in class Kosair Charities Child Advocacy Center
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Aug. 30, 2016) – Family & Children’s Place, the leading agency in Louisville helping children and families injured and impacted by violence, abuse and neglect, has received a $5,000 grant from The Snowy Owl Foundation Inc. The grant will support the work of the agency’s best in class Kosair Charities Child Advocacy Center (KCCAC).
The Snowy Owl Foundation, founded in 2010, provides grants that “care for nature, creativity and human need with imagination by providing nourishment for good organizations.”
The KCCAC – deemed one of the seven best in the country by a national accrediting agency – provides compassionate, trauma-informed intervention, treatment and investigation of child sexual and physical abuse. Therapists, forensic interviewers, the Crimes Against Children Unit of Louisville Metro Police, Child Protective Services, Commonwealth’s Attorney office and physicians from the University of Louisville School of Medicine work collaboratively to stop, investigate and prosecute child abuse and help child survivors and families heal.
Last year, KCCAC professionals stopped the trauma of sexual and physical abuse and provided compassionate and comprehensive care for more than 1,300 Louisville-area children.
Family & Children’s Place delivers compassionate, innovative and effective programs that build strong, partnerships with clients, communities in the public and private sectors. We recognize changing needs and demographics, and work to resolve challenges that abused and neglected children and families face now and will in the future.
Our goal is to provide a continuum of quality care that reduces the incidence of abuse and improves lives until we end abuse and there no longer is a need for our services.
