August 13, 2015
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Aug. 13, 2015) – The Snowy Owl Foundation Inc., has awarded a $3,000 grant to Family & Children’s Place, which will be used to support the work of its Kosair Charities Child Advocacy Center (KCCAC).
The Snowy Owl Foundation, founded in 2010, provides grants that “care for nature, creativity and human need with imagination by providing nourishment for good organizations.”
The KCCAC provides compassionate, coordinated intervention, treatment and investigation of child sexual and physical abuse in Greater Louisville.
The center, in Old Louisville, houses in one place therapists, forensic interviewers, the Crimes Against Children Unit of Louisville Metro Police, Child Protective Services, Commonwealth’s Attorney office and physicians from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, who work collaboratively to stop, investigate and prosecute child abuse and help child survivors and their families heal.
Last year, KCCAC professionals stopped the trauma of sexual and physical abuse and provided compassionate and comprehensive care for more than 1,300 Louisville-area children.
