Silent, live auctions highlight 2017 CAPER

February 7, 2017

Get ready for some “cattle rattle,” auctioneering to most of us, as we tee up auction items – silent and live – for the 30th annual CAPER, benefiting Family & Children’s Place, coming to the Galt House on Feb. 18, 2017. The social soiree – from 3 to 6 p.m. – immediately follows the University of Louisville vs. Virginia Tech men’s basketball game and promises a good time for everyone.

Murray McCandless will be the cattle rattler for the live auction, which includes a Rick Pitino-signed basketball, eight one-way passes to anywhere in the United States and Puerto Rico from Southwest, vacations in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and Gulf Shores, Ala., and more.

For those who prefer the quiet competition of a silent auction, items for bid include tickets to the Mother Church of Country Music – the Ryman Auditorium; a hot air balloon ride for two; passes to The Louisville Zoo, Frazier History Museum, Kentucky Derby Museum, King’s Island, National Corvette Museum, and Disney World. We expect some friendly competition as proud alums bid for competing St. Xavier and Trinity game day baskets.

It’s shaping up to be a crazy good time, so mark your calendars – Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, 3 to 6 p.m. at the Galt House. And don’t forget your checkbook and credit cards! Get tickets http://bit.ly/2ivwXSU.
