Inaugural Louisville Mashed event offers chance to enjoy bourbon, network, end child abuse, neglect

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 29, 2015) – Bourbon lovers, likers and those who are just curious are invited to the inaugural Louisville Mashed bourbon-tasting event, a chance to enjoy Kentucky’s native product, network and  support Family & Children’s Place, which helps children and families recover from the trauma of abuse.

The event begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 12, at Audubon Country Club, 3265 Robin Rd., in Louisville. A $20 donation at the door gets you a scorecard to take part in the blind bourbon tasting competition and sample food and drink from event partners, including Bourbon Barrel Foods, Cellar Door Chocolate, Buffalo Trace, Brown-Forman, and others.

You must be 21 to attend and all donations go to Family & Children’s Place to support its work in Louisville and Southern Indiana.

There will be a silent auction, so participants are encouraged to bring along their charge cards and checkbooks. Event-goers are also encouraged to bring along and enter a favored bottle of bourbon in the blind tasting competition. There are five people to a team, and sponsors expect there to be up to 30 different bourbons in the competition, with some great prizes for the winning team. Register here to enter a team into the blind tasting event: http://louisvillemashed.com/about.html.

Other spirits will be available for tasting as well, along with some wines –complimentary with your at-the-door donation.

Partners for the first-time event also include, Bourbon Brotherhood, Mint Julep Tours & Transportation and YPAL.  Uber also is offering a discount code that night to help ensure safe travels for everyone attending the event.

Louisville Mashed – it’s a chance to learn more about, sample new brands or just enjoy an old favorite with the Commonwealth’s treasured spirt, and to meet old friends and new, but it’s also an investment – in making a real and significant difference in the lives of child victims of violence, abuse and neglect.
