Sample some bourbon, support kids’ recovery from abuse

October 22, 2015

Bourbon lovers, likers and the curious are invited to the inaugural Louisville Mashed bourbon-tasting event, Thursday, Nov. 12, from 6 to 9 p.m., to enjoy Kentucky’s native product and to support Family & Children’s Place.

whiskeyA $20 donation at the door lets you enjoy tastings, samples from partners and some light bites, and connects you to new networks – sponsors expect more than 250 to participate in this first of its kind fun and casual event. Louisville Mashed also will contribute each $20 donation or to help children and families hurt by abuse.

Event-goers are encouraged to bring and enter a favored bottle of bourbon in the blind tasting competition, or enjoy samples from distillers such as Buffalo Trace, Maker’s Mark, Evan Williams and Angel’s Envy.

There will be a silent auction, so bring along your charge cards and checkbook, and other spirits will be available for tasting as well, along with some wines –complimentary with your at-the-door donation.

It’s a chance to learn more about, sample new brands or just enjoy an old favorite with the Commonwealth’s treasured spirt, and to meet old friends and new, but it’s also an investment – in making a real and significant difference in the lives of child victims of violence, abuse and neglect.
