Grant will support programs, services at the Kosair Charities Child Advocacy Center
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (April 26, 2016) – Family & Children’s Place has received a $4,250 grant from the Mildred V. Horn Foundation, LaGrange, Ky., to help support programs and services provided by the Kosair Charities Child Advocacy Center (KCCAC).
The center, one of six core programs provided by Family & Children’s Place, delivers compassionate, coordinated intervention, treatment and investigation of child sexual and physical abuse in Greater Louisville.
Located in Old Louisville, the KCCAC houses in one place therapists, forensic interviewers, family advocates, the Crimes Against Children Unit of Louisville Metro Police, Child Protective Services, Commonwealth’s Attorney office and physicians from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, who work collaboratively to stop, investigate and prosecute child abuse and help child survivors and their families heal.
“We appreciate the continued support of the Mildred V. Horn Foundation,” said JT Henderson, vice president of Philanthropy. “This grant will give children and families a real chance to succeed, despite their painful pasts.”
