Each month, Jefferson County Public Schools’ offers “Ask a Nurse,” an online video series that tackles timely health-related topics and offers students tips on how to be and stay healthy. The video for August is on suicide prevention.

The issue is of critical importance, since suicide is the second leading cause of death for youth ages 12-18. More teenagers and young adults die from suicide than from cancer, heart disease, AIDS, birth defects, stroke, pneumonia, influenza, and chronic lung disease, combined.

The video is to help create awareness in the community about the JCPS suicide prevention program.  Please take a look:
