AR-HALE Foundation provides $5,000 grant to child advocacy center

September 19, 2016

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 19, 2016) – The AR-HALE Family Foundation Inc., has awarded a $5,000 grant to Family & Children’s Place, to help support the compassionate care provided to child victims of sexual abuse by its Kosair Charities Child Advocacy Center (KCCAC).

“When the unspeakable tragedy of child sexual abuse occurs, our Kosair Charities Child Advocacy Center provides comprehensive medical assessment, mental health and forensic interviewing services,” said Pam Darnall, president and CEO of Family & Children’s Place.

“AR-HALE understands the need for and supports these lifesaving and changing services, so we are deeply grateful for its support.”

The Lima, Ohio, foundation supports philanthropic and religious initiatives that help families and children, primarily in communities where foundation shareholders reside, with emphasis on Louisville; Allen, Auglaize and Shelby counties, and the cities of Dayton and Lima, Ohio; Shawnee, OK.; and Erie, PA.

The KCCAC brings together professionals from many disciplines – law enforcement, child protection, prosecution, mental health, medical and victim advocacy – to work together to oversee the investigation, treatment, management and prosecution of child sexual abuse cases.

Last year, KCCAC professionals stopped the trauma of sexual and physical abuse and provided compassionate and comprehensive care for more than 1,300 Louisville-area children.
