Family & Children’s Place had the chance Wednesday to host Kentucky Attorney General-elect Andy Beshear, who outlined plans for his office and efforts to tackle some of the issues facing Kentucky, including child abuse and exploitation, our areas of critical interest.

Former attorney general and retired Jefferson County Circuit Court Judge Fred Cowan introduced Beshear, who assumes office in early January. Beshear spoke to  our board and then took a tour of our best in class Kosair Charities Child Advocacy Center, to meet the therapists, forensic interviewers and team that works with police, attorneys, Child Protective Services and U of L physicians to provide the most compassionate care to child victims of sexual abuse.

We look forward to working with Beshear and the attorneys in his office to protect and care for and about Kentucky’s children.
