PAL offers Green Dot training
December 8, 2015
The PAL Coalition will offer Green Dot Training during its next meeting, from noon to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Family & Children’s Place.
Green Dot training is a “comprehensive approach to the primary prevention of violence that capitalizes on the power of peer and cultural influence.” Green Dot utilizes awareness, education and skills-practice, in proactive behaviors that establish intolerance of violence as the norm, as well as reactive interventions in high-risk situations, resulting in the ultimate reduction of violence.
The presentation is by Khalilah Collins, MSW, project manager for PACT in Action, a teen dating violence prevention initiative of The Center for Women & Families and Kentucky One Health. Like PAL, PACT focuses on the Park Hill, Algonquin and Old Louisville neighborhoods.
