On Giving Tuesday, give a gift that matters

November 23, 2016

Tuesday, Nov. 29, is Giving Tuesday, a day charities, families, businesses and individuals will come together once again to transform the way people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season. You can – and should – be a part of that transformation.

11-29-2016Does it surprise you to learn that 79 percent of Americans polled said they would rather have a donation made in their name rather than a gift they know they’ll never use? That’s nearly 80 percent of your shopping list!

A gift to Family & Children’s Place is meaningful for everyone involved. Your friends, family and colleagues will be honored to know you donated in their name to prevent and end child abuse and to help children and families who already have been hurt to heal, and children who have been hurt get the help and hope they need to live and love again. At the same time, you have contributed to a better community – a community that protects its children.

It’s a gift that keeps on giving, too, because hurt people hurt people, so helping child victims of violence and abuse understand and move past the hurt breaks the cycle of abuse that absent help often stretches over multiple generations.

This year, join the Giving Tuesday movement. Give a gift that means something and creates meaningful change in the life of a child. Any gift – every gift – matters.
