Mom’s message makes our day!
April 30, 2018
Last year, the voluntary in-home visitation and support team helped give more than 580 infants the very best start possible – and the results are nothing short of significant.
In all, 98 percent of babies were current on immunizations. In homes served, 95 percent were free of abuse, 96 percent of babies were meeting developmental milestones, and 87 percent of babies were born with healthy birthweight.
HANDS partners with families from pre-birth until the child is two years old, so some question what happens once a child leaves the program. A former HANDS mom answered that question for us recently, saying, “the techniques you taught me (for her son Clifford) have been incredible, especially the idea of empathy and respect, and have carried over succinctly as he has grown up.”
The message, like so many we receive from clients – current and former – made our day!
