The Indiana Department for Child Services referred Haley to Family & Children’s Place after she suffered great abuse, neglect, and trauma in her mother’s home. She was in the custody of her paternal grandmother.

Haley had missed so many days of school that she was repeating the first grade for the third time! Thanks to the consistent, safe, and loving home her grandmother provided, the tutoring and support she received in school and her hard work in therapy, she excelled in class and became involved in several after-school activities.

Haley’s grandmother obtained permanent custody of Haley and DCS closed the case. Haley completed Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and upon termination of the case, received a certificate showing her accomplishment.

Her therapist has no doubt that Haley is in a better environment and that she will do well in achieving her goals.
