September 10, 2015

Funds will upgrade security, safety and comfort of agency’s Supervised Visitation Center

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 9) – Kentucky Colonels from all over the world are partnering with Family & Children’s Place to improve the lives of those living in this community.

COLSThe agency on Wednesday received a grant of $4,685 from the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels during a ceremony at the Kentucky Derby Museum in Louisville.  The grant will help upgrade security and facilities at the agency’s Supervised Visitation Center to make it more comfortable and friendly, and to help ensure the safety and security of client children and families.

Family & Children’s Place gives Louisville area children and families a place to go to work through and heal trauma of child abuse and family violence. We supervise safe parent-child visitations; help at-risk families to have safe, secure homes; help new parents raise happy, healthy babies; and help students improve grades and behaviors. Family & Children’s Place fosters and invests in hope with children and families to build better futures for everyone.

Members of The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels include some of the greatest achievers and people of influence in the world.  Each member has received the title of “Kentucky Colonel,” the highest civilian honor the governor of the Commonwealth can bestow.

The Kentucky Colonels, through their Good Works Program, will distribute nearly $1.5 million this year to support more than 143 worthy causes.
