On Monday, Oct. 3, join Family & Children’s Place for Beer & Banter, an after-work drink and networking event at Louisville’s newest craft beer bar, Hopcat!

During Beer & Banter, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., you will have the chance to enjoy a behind the scenes tour of the bar’s keg room – home to more than 130 tap beers, but you also will learn about the lifesaving and changing work Family & Children’s Place does daily with children injured by violence, abuse and neglect.

As you enjoy a beer and some light bites, hear about our work in schools with at-risk students, with new parents to help them provide a safe, happy environment for babies, with families threatened by homelessness and wracked by violence, and with children who have had their lives and trust shattered by sexual or physical abuse.

Not the typical conversation you have over drinks, but a critically important topic for Louisville, where one in every four girls and one in every six boys will be abused by the time they are 18, and an issue you can make a real difference with as an Ambassador, young business and community members who help create awareness and support for the agency through networking events and opportunities, or as a volunteer.

Come check it out. Enjoy a cold beer and learn how you can be the difference in the lives of children in our community.
