When Adele arrived at Head Start, she spoke little English, was very shy, and struggled to interact with peers. After recently moving from Cuba, her family primarily spoke Spanish at home. With the support of bilingual strategies from her teachers, Adele quickly gained confidence and learned English, allowing her to express herself and connect with others. Soon after, she became potty trained, blossomed socially, and emerged as a classroom leader. Now 5 years old, Adele is thriving and preparing to graduate Head Start and begin kindergarten this fall.
