June 25, 2018

Jackie Richardson, Adam Faris new COO, VP Finance of child abuse prevention agency

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 25, 2018) – Family & Children’s Place has named Jackie Richardson as chief operating officer, and Adam Faris vice president of Finance. The agency, which is celebrating its 135th anniversary, leads efforts in Louisville to prevent, stop, and heal child violence, abuse, exploitation, and neglect.

The COO position is new, though Richardson brings significant experience from the public and private sectors to the role; Faris succeeds Jack McQuade, who is retiring after nearly 17 years.

“We are very excited to have Jackie and Adam join us,” said Pam Darnall, president and CEO of Family & Children’s Place. “They both bring deep and meaningful experience to their roles and their experience and insights will help us to not only continue to deliver services efficiently and effectively, but to extend and expand our impact in the community.”

Richardson retired recently from Kentucky state government where she was executive director of the Kentucky Commission for Children with Special Health Care Needs. There she was recognized for noteworthy national level contributions and received the 2017 Director’s Award from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Maternal and Child Health Bureau.

She served as chief of staff for the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness, as chief financial officer at the Louisville Zoo, and as a financial services specialist/business manager with the Louisville-Jefferson County Metro Government Finance Department.

Richardson earned her Masters of Business Administration from Webster University in St. Louis, Mo., and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky.   She also is a Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR).

Faris is a former director of Finance for the Center for Women & Families, and was involved in developing the Shared Services Group, now known as ImpactV, which delivers strategic, professional, and highly productive business solutions to nonprofit organizations.

He also worked for DMLO – Deming, Malone, Livesay and Ostroff – CPAs. Faris has a Masters in Accounting from the University of Louisville, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
