About 25 families, along with their children, enjoyed a Back to School Bingo and party night, including pizza and games, at Family & Children’s Place this week.

The party, hosted by the Family Stabilization Program Advisory Council – Apryll Buege, Kimberly Mergenthaler, Stephen Piper, Charles Cottrell, Amanda Cottrell and Emily Bridges – was the first of its kind and council members distributed back to school supplies as prizes.

Each member spoke about why they are on the council. Mergenthaler wants to make program participants feel more at home in the program. Cottrell wants to help us improve services and Bridges wants to make sure program participants have a voice in the community.

The council made sure the event was a success, arriving early to set up and bringing desserts for all of the  families! Everyone went home with some notebooks, crayons, colored pencils, pens, paper, scissors or pencil boxes.
