Eric and Bobbie – simple wants, critical needs

November 10, 2016

Among tbrighterholidaysborderhe children in our Brighter Holiday program are Eric and Bobbie, a brother and sister living with grandparents who live on disability. The grandparents do the very best they can, but feel badly because they can’t give eight-year-old Eric and six-year-old Bobbie the Christmas – or even the life – they want them to have.

Eric loves Pokémon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and SpongeBob SquarePants, sports, basketball and track. He’s a Boy Scout and wants to camp, but has no gear. He needs shoes and shirts badly, they say.

Bobbie needs pants, shirts and shoes – tennis and dress shoes. She loves Shopkins, My Little Pony, Barbie’s and SpongeBob SquarePants like her brother. She’s in Girl Scouts and loves to look cute, so wants some ribbons and bows for her hair.

Simple wants but some serious needs by two of the 275-300 children we hope to help have a happy holiday this year. Be the bright light in a child’s Christmas. Email or call volunteer coordinator Shannon McRae at Shannon@McRaeTek.com, or 502-235-1511, for information or to sponsor a child.
