Councilman James shares insights with PAL Coalition
February 3, 2016
On Tuesday, Feb. 2, Louisville Sixth District Metro Councilman David James joined the PAL Coalition to talk about his life as a police office and his tenure as a council member.
He encouraged young PAL members to dream and find their “deals” in life – what makes them wake up in the morning, what makes them want to continue to grow in life, how will the impact the world.
He also talked about the importance of voting and the different outlooks that Republicans and Democrats have, and touched on the importance of paying attention to local government, how it affects your day-to-day life, and how to affect change in your local government.
PAL is a collaborative coalition working to reduce substance abuse by young people living in the 7th Street corridor – Park Hill, Algonquin and Old Louisville – of Central Louisville. It is a Drug Free Communities grant program sponsored by the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration.
