January 4, 2016
Grant will help provide help support healing at one of the agency’s child advocacy centers
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Jan. 4, 2016) – Family & Children’s Place has received a $1,000 grant from Capricorn Foundation Charitable Trust, to help support work at the agency’s child advocacy centers in Kentucky and Indiana.
The charitable trust was established in 1983 to aid agencies supporting child development, education and the arts in Greater Louisville.
The child advocacy centers – in Louisville, New Albany and soon in Jeffersonville – provide compassionate, coordinated intervention and investigation of child sexual and physical abuse, and last year served more than 1,300 children.
The centers provide critical services, including forensic interviews, mental health assessments, medical examinations and therapy – in collaboration with law enforcement, child protective services, prosecutors and medical professionals – to support investigation and prosecution and to help heal the trauma.
