June 28, 2016
Grant will provide critical services to trauma-affected children, families in Clark County, Indiana
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 28, 2016) – Family & Children’s Place recently received a $10,000 grant from the Hazel & Walter T. Bales Foundation Inc., which will be used to continue to grow and strengthen services for Clark County children and families through the agency’s Jeffersonville, Ind., office.
“Partnering with the Hazel and Walter T. Bales Foundation has been especially impactful in our efforts to provide trauma-informed and proven effective services to families in Southern Indiana, but especially in Clark County,” said JT Henderson, Family & Children’s Place vice president of Philanthropy.
“The number of children and family seeking our services is rising, so this grant will help us meet that need to help make the county safer for children.”
Since the West Court Avenue office opened, staff has seen 45 percent more clients from Clark County compared to the 2015 fiscal year (310 vs. 192) and provided more than 1,245 service hours to helping children and families coping with trauma from violence and abuse.
The Hazel & Walter T. Bales Foundation Inc., which funds Southern Indiana projects and programs that contribute to better communities, has supported the agency since 2011.
The gift affords the foundation sponsorship benefits, including recognition as a Southern Indiana Flagship Partner, lead sponsorship for a fall community fundraising event in Southern Indiana and Table Sponsor at the annual spring Southern Indiana Building Brighter Futures Breakfast.
